Female Handgun/Defense Program
In an effort to continue offering education and training to our members, as well as the public, we have initiated an exciting new opportunity for our female club members.  We have budgeted $500 to be distributed among five female members at a maximum $100 per person.
1.     The only way to apply is to print the application on our BCSA Website
2.     Fill out application and return to our address PRIOR to out June 6, 2013 Directors  meeting. Copy of application attached with this newsletter.
3.     Five names will be drawn that evening and winners will be notified.
4.     Winners will call Sig Sauer Academy in Epping and make arrangements for personal self defense class.
5.     Upon successfully completing the class they must provide proof to BCSA directors that they completed course.  BCSA will within 45 days reimburse the person $100.

At the time of program implementation 5/2/2013 the cost of the course was $220. The BCSA will not reimburse more than $100 regardless of future course increases.

The BCSA is very involved with our community

Our organization has been in existence for over 75 years in Gilford NH.  Our purpose is to educate and expose the wonderful opportunities of the great outdoors to youngsters and adults alike.

We are very excited and enthusiastic about our programs and are always striving to improve and expand them. Let me quickly point out this is strictly a volunteer organization with no salaries to anyone.

We hold an annual game dinner / auction which is our biggest fundraiser of the year.

We sponsor youngsters to Camp Barry, Milan N.H. for a weeks worth of adventure.
This is a conservation minded camp with many opportunities for those chosen to attend.

To introduce more women to the outdoors we sponsor women to the Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) program. This is a weekend event held in Holderness NH and offers many opportunities for women to participate in activities they may never have otherwise experienced.

Twice a year we have kids Fishing Derbies. One is an ice fishing event held in March on Lily Pond and the other is held at Gunstock Pond in June. Prizes, food, equipment are provided free of charge.

Hunter Safety and Bow Hunter classes are held at our clubhouse. This year there were over two hundred graduates from these classes.

We have a hiking program where participants hike the 12 mountains in the Belknap Range.

Several years ago we established a scholarship fund to assist those pursuing careers in the conservation fields. The Lakes Region Scholarship Foundation administers these funds.

Throughout the year many other educational opportunities are available at our club.

Members of BCSA also work closely with local land owners and the NH F&G to conduct
habitat restoration work.
